Beginning the search for a therapist is the first step on the path to healing, growth, and well-being. My goal is to collaborate with you on a plan to navigate through emotional obstacles and create opportunities for a more joyful life.

As a licenced psychotherapist, I believe that all people have the innate ability to heal their emotional wounds. While trust is the foundation of a therapeutic relationship, it can help to include the body when working with the mind. I combine traditional talk therapy with Yoga and nutritional guidance for regulating emotions and improving moods. The result is a concrete treatment plan with specific mind and body interventions to meet your goals.

Cognitive Behavior Therapy

Our thoughts play a major role in our emotional state. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a structured approach to identifying negative thought patterns and their resulting behaviors. Through a process of slowing down and noticing our thinking, we can begin to understand the common thought distortions that impact how we feel and act. It is possible and empowering to challenge and replace these thought patterns with more accurate and positive thinking.

Mindfulness

Mindfulness is a practice of noticing without judging, fighting, or trying to change. Take sadness for example. Sadness is a normal emotion that gets a bad rap. We often do whatever we can to avoid feeling it, often making it worse. A mindfulness practice creates space to feel our feelings and be fully present in the experience. When we allow ourselves to be with what is, we can learn to feel, tolerate, and move through difficult feelings.

Yoga

Feelings are felt in the body as sensations. As we move throughout our lives, our brains are constantly releasing chemicals in response to our emotional experiences and our bodies react. Yoga brings together mind, body, and spirit with movement and breath. Restorative Yoga is still and quiet, facilitating calm and relaxation. In our therapy together, we draw from this ancient healing modality and tailor a practice to meet your unique emotional and physical needs.

Holistic Therapy

The connection between food and mood is well documented and researched. Symptoms of depression and anxiety like fatigue, brain fog, and irritability may be directly linked to digestion and inflammation. I work closely with medical providers and nutritionists to support my clients in achieving a more balanced body and calmer mind.
