Parenting
Many of us deal with stress and worry about our kids, especially when they are struggling emotionally, physically, and academically. I support parents through all stages from pregnancy through parenting adult children.
We all face challenging times at various stages in our lives. Seeking therapy to help navigate difficult situations is a sign of strength and self-care. I have over a decade of experience supporting adults of all ages, parents, and teenagers. When appropriate, I work closely with parents, doctors, and school personnel to round out care, goal setting, and treatment planning.

Adolescents are under more pressure than ever. Academic and social stress, perfectionism, peer pressure, social media and fear of missing out, body image issues, learning differences, alcohol and substance use, sexual and gender identity, and challenging family dynamics are some of the stressors I have experience helping teenagers navigate.

We each have the innate ability to heal our emotional wounds. As a therapist, I meet you wherever you are and with nonjudgmental empathy and positive regard we set goals and create a treatment plan to meet your needs.
Many of our thoughts and deep seated beliefs impact how we live and relate to the world around us. CBT is an opportunity to examine and reframe thoughts and beliefs that hold us in patterns of negative thinking and behaving.
Sometimes looking at early childhood and family dynamics can help gain a deeper understanding and insight into what is happening now.
We often carry our emotional stress, tension, and even trauma in our bodies. At times there are no words to describe how we feel. Gentle and restorative Yoga and breathwork can be powerful tools for opening up and releasing past wounds. Yoga can support the connection of mind and body with breath, creating increased self awareness, strength, and an internal sense of calm.
With mindfulness, one can learn to be more present in the moment. With practice it becomes easier to observe thoughts and emotions without becoming overly attached and reactive to them.
It can be difficult to find time to eat well, sleep enough, and exercise, yet emotional well-being is directly linked to this type of self care. I support clients in developing unique mind and body wellness plans that include good nutrition, exercise, and sleep hygiene. When necessary I refer to and collaborate with doctors and nutritionists for more complete care.
